The Father Knows Best

It is a show about a typical family, who's father ,Jim Anderson portrayed by Robert Young, is an agent of an insurance company. The Aderson family is compose five family member namely , Marget portrayed by Jane Wyatt with her common sense, helps her husband, and with their three lovely children, betty portrayed by Elinor Donahue, bud portrayed by Billy Gray and Kathy portrayed by Laurin Chapin. Jim who always guiding and protecting his family and while his wife, Margaret supporting the family, together they help each other to deal with their problems.

The comedy series started on NBC radio on August 25, 1949 and ended November 19, 1953, it was aired on the television more than four years and produced six season and one special on CBS a total of 203 episodes ,you can watch the tv episodes on dvd to enjoy the show.

The first series of the show before it aired on the Television, was not seen but heard on the radio on August 25, 1949 and lasted November 19, 1953 and continued its progressed on TV. The First cast of the shows were Robert Young, June Whitley, Rhoda Williams, Ted Donaldson, Norma Jean Nilsson, Eleanor Audley, Herb Vigran and Sam Edwards. Only Robert Young have made it through in becoming a star on TV.

One of the reason why the series was idealized by many viewers because by that time most other family comedies portrayed the parents in a comic action such being an blundering idiot compared to Jim and Margaret they display the real role of being one's parent being thoughtful and responsible adults. When it was first launch it seems it was not successful so the management canceled the show in March of 1955. Yet a surprisingly act by the viewers demand that show be brought back and launch on an earlier time, the season starts on 8:30 pm and for the past five years it's stayed strong. It proves that the show is very helpful and entertaining to the viewers.

Robert Young and Jane Wyatt the two main characters have been a great contributor in the Television industry , passed away in their in natural cause , Robert Young at the age 91 died in a Respiratory Failure in 1998 and Jane Wyatt at the age of 96 died of natural cause in 2006 ,they all will be remember.
