Benjamin Leighton Matlock portrayed by Andy Griffith is an attorney who actually visit the crime scene to find more clues to back up his theories for defense. He carefully chooses his clients and works on charity on holidays. Assisting him are his lawyer daughters Charlene and Leanne with Michelle Thomas and Cliff Lewis while their private investigators are Tyler Hudson, Conrad McMasters, Cliff Lewis and Jerri Stone.
